Reporting a mistake

Every name, capital and flag is checked against more than one source, but a wrong spelling, an outdated capital, a flag drawn incorrectly or a misplaced label on a printable map can still slip through. We would much rather hear about it than not. The report a mistake link on each quiz opens an email with the page already filled in.

To help us find the problem quickly, include:

• the address of the page, or the name of the printable map or worksheet and its version (blank, outline, numbered or labelled)
• the quiz mode you were using, such as Click, Type or Choice, if it was a quiz
• the place, capital or flag involved, what the site showed and what you expected, with a source if you have one

Borders and names

If you think a border, a country name or a capital is wrong, please read our borders and names policy first. It explains which places count as countries, which are in the optional other territories setting and why we use the names we do. If you still think we have it wrong, tell us, and point us to the source you are relying on.

Other reasons to write

Tell us about anything that makes the site hard to use, whether that is playing with a keyboard, using a screen reader, color contrast or the size of the map on a small screen; the accessibility page describes what we have done so far. Suggestions for new regions, quiz modes or printables are welcome.

If you would like to use our maps or worksheets in a way the terms of use don't already allow, such as in a newsletter, a printed book or a paid course, ask by email and we will usually say yes.
